Christmas in October?

This weekend, I innocently walked into Macy's (I still call it the Bon Marche, though) to innocently shop for some plaid pants and this is what my innocent eyes saw on the main floor:

Isn't it a little too early for Christmas stuff? And such a pimpy Christmas it is - bling-squared! As the Bon, the store kept its Christmas store tastefully stowed away on the fifth floor, but the Macy's regime wants more visibility. That's understandable, but guys, wait till Halloween is over! The children will become jaded and Santa Claus will cry. You don't want that, do you, Macy's bigwigs? Personally, I like Macy's ornament selection; they have some of the tackiest creations known to humankind (my favorites are the Yuletide seagulls), but please, next year, hold off until November 1st, OK?

Any luck with the plaid trousers?

None. Zilch. They're very rare. But factory-distressed jeans, they've got tons of those!

I bet you could find some super plaid trousers at Leroy's Menswear...

Believe it or not. I've already tried there. Too expensive. And not plaid enough.
