You know, Western Avenue is a very unexciting street, except for what goes on at Venom, a cavernous club that does a very heavy weekend business. Gosh, I can remember when it used to be the Western Antique Mall. After that, it was a cavernous Italian restaurant. And then it was this club. Well, early this morning, there was a fight near the place. A cop tried to break it up, single-handedly it seems, and he ended up getting involved. The real story is here. The important thing is that somebody got arrested. I bet it's the last time that guy tries to bear hug a cop. Maybe next time there's trouble at Venom (and there will be), the cop should wait till the opposing parties have tired themselves out by punching each other.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish the cop's hand a speedy recovery.
