Coming Soon to the Moore!

Gosh, what a terrible name for a band! Pardon my ignorance, but I've never heard of these guys before. Am I missing anything? All I can get from their bio at the Moore site (besides some very boring prose) is that they're prog and proud to proclaim it. I've gotta say that prog was one of rock's more profound blunders. You just kept waiting for it to get good and it never did. I tend to think of the three main offenders as Yes, ELP and prog-lifers King Crimson. Although they had some good tunes, their body of work was, at the end of the day, fantastically awful. The only prog guy who did anything for me was Adrian Belew, a King Crimson refugee. I'm tellin' ya, Lone Rhino is a masterpiece. His version of "I'm Down" (on Twang Bar King) is transcendent. Other than that, it all massively sucks. Who knows, maybe Porcupine Tree (that name! ugh!) makes good on progressive rock's promise. Maybe not. All I have to say is this: Caesar's Palace. Morning glory. Silly human race.

Sorry but in my opinion you have terrible taste in music if you think Yes has built a awful body of work.

And Porcupine Tree is a great band, get over names and listen to the music...
