The A.L. Humphrey House on the Rise

It's quite extraordinary watching something get built in increments. I say that because this photograph doesn't really look that exciting. But if you consider the fact that a month and a half ago, this was an empty parking lot, the progress is pretty impressive. Observe:

Gee, I hope all this engineering and craftsmanship will be appreciated by all the future crazy people who are going to live here. But if they're anything like my nutty neighbors at the El Rey, I wouldn't count on it. Crazy people don't do a lot of appreciating. They just kind of act crazy all the time. And it doesn't matter how many anti-psychotics they take. In fact, gulping a lot of those makes them act like zombies, which is generally more disturbing than the actual crazy behavior itself.
