After Hours

Yves Montand. Les Grands Boulevards

Here's Yves performing for the masses in the Soviet Union around 1956. He's singing a breezy little number that doubtlessly captivated their little worker souls. And it's all subtitled in Italian for your convenience. Oh, and speaking of that - even though Yves was a suave, bon vivant archetypal Frenchman, did you realize that he was actually 100% Italianman? That's right, he was born Ivo Livi smack in the middle of Tuscany one day long ago. It matters little. This is a very nice clip. My favorite part is at 1:25 when he starts dancing around. His message: Hey Communists, I'm a triple-threat. Get used to it.

By the way, happy Bastille Day!
