Unlike the flurry of activity going on at the Security House, the McGuire continues to languish amid the preoccupied indifference of its renovators, the dwarf army. Indeed, there were no signs of life on its slopes when I took this photo. Perhaps things go badly in their war with the mole people, who, despite their poor eyesight and gruesome looks, are quite tough and clever. Although the dwarfs are more numerous, they tend towards doing impulsive things that get them killed. If things have devolved into a stalemate, the sides are probably fighting a trench war. This is to the advantage of the mole people, because they're all about digging. My advice to the dwarf army is to sign a peace treaty, let the mole people return to the earth's crust and then they can head back the McGuire and finish the job.
