After Hours

Serge Gainsbourg. La nuit d'Octobre

Here's Serge from 1959. He's very much in his jazz/latin phase. This is a bouncy little number I've never heard before. And golly, it's really good! The only thing is that perhaps a ruined castle isn't the best setting for this tune. Maybe singing in a nightclub and looking morose is a better way to present it. But what do I know? He's Serge freakin' Gainsbourg, one of world's greatest pop stars, past, present or future. If he wants to tromp around ruins, let him. It's still a fine song!
