Prade
Well, today was the Pride Parade - or Prade, as they say (OK, only I say that) and it went on for kind of forever. That's OK; there was a loud of proudness out there. Usually, I watch it from street level and take the best photos I can manage. This year, though, I watched it from an apartment just slightly above 4th Ave. Here are some of the highlights. Naked bikers:
Puppy players - very, very, totally normal; people acting like dogs. Nothing to see here, folks:
And everything else:
It was pretty OK. People were excited. Just about everyone had a good time. Anyhow, happy Prade, everyone.

The Future Has Arrived
In the future, they told us, there will be no more liquor stores. You'll be able to buy strong booze anywhere. Someday, they said, this will be so, when everyone dresses in silver clothes and flies around in rocket-powered heli-cars. Well, it's finally happened - and a little earlier than expected. This is the former adult diaper/pet food aisle at my local Rite Aid:
Yes, quite the selection, isn't it? If I actually liked this stuff, it would probably have some impact on my life, but I've had the same bottle of Bacardi rum in my freezer for 10 years. My drink of choice remains cheap red wine. You can find that just one aisle over. But if you're a person who's overjoyed by the liquor liberation, then drink up. Personally, I'm happy to see liquor stores go. They were sad places. Now you can go to Rite Aid, buy some Old Grand Dad for yourself and ointment for your old grand dad. What could be more joyful than that? Welcome to the future, sweet people.
