Miles Davis & Gil Evans. New Rhumba

This is a continuation of that really cool thing I posted a few weeks ago. This tune starts off very much like "So What," but departs from it significantly as it goes on. I'm thinking that this tune may have been the inspiration for it, as they were written around the same time. Inspiration is one thing; theft is quite another. You know, there were a bunch of guys who claimed that Miles ripped them off. They claimed authorship for material that has since become classic. For instance, Eddie Vinson swore up and down that he wrote "Four." Could he prove it? No. Could any of those guys prove it? Strangely enough, no. So I'm pretty sure they were all smoking the drapes. And Miles Davis is a paragon of virtue.
