Drunks of Belltown, Here Is Your New Church!

For years now, Belltown hasn't had a liquor store. This being Washington State, all spirits are sold by the government. Well, the government decided to close the old operation at 6th & Lenora about seven years ago and that was that. I guess they figured that nobody in Belltown would ever get drunk again if they stopped selling spirits. Well, I'm sorry. It doesn't work that way. So finally, the state in all of its wisdom has opened another one. But it's not in Belltown. Not to worry though, my tipsy friends, it's just across the border of the Denny Neutral Zone (DNZ) on 7th between Bell & Battery. Here are a few vague and unenticing photos:

Looks like a real fun place, doesn't it? That's State of Washington for you - all fun, all the time. Me, I'm a wine guy, so this means nothing. Rite Aid already solves that problem quite dandily, thank you. But I'm sure that fans of sloe gin are going nuts right about now.
